"The Puppeteer"

Mixed Media doll: Antique handmade lace, recycled painter's rags, wire, linen string, antique buttons, the artist's reproduced artwork, paints, an old doll box, music box, and more. 

On a whim one day, I began making a doll. I had some vague idea what I wanted. From the first few moments, she seemed to know what she wanted to become. Then you might say, she just happened. Several weeks later, Mary Annette was complete, with accessories.

I keep her on a cabinet in my house. When I turn out the lights, she comes out of her box and dances. The music is all in her head...
